What is yoga?

Let’s start with the dictionary definition. Yoga is a Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline, a part of which, including breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures, is widely practiced for health and relaxation.

But, like almost everything in our modern world, yoga has evolved (it originated over 5,000 years ago, making it the original at home fitness option). Today, there are many types of yoga from very traditional to more high-intensity, fitness-based full body workouts.

Bulldog yoga online NOT traditional. It’s a modern take on power yoga, and it’s a true yoga workout. We offer a variety of class styles without intimidation! – Slow flow (Activate), Power flow (Invigorate), and “Dialed-up” (Exhilarate). What is power yoga?

Power yoga classes are fitness-based. They focus on building flexibility, strength, and stamina which is a pretty awesome combo for a true yoga workout!

And, if you’re looking to burn calories doing yoga, power yoga is a great yoga for weight loss choice.

Most Bulldog Online yoga classes are considered to be power – they deliver a great yoga workout. Our streaming online yoga classes vary in intensity from Activate – a slower flow (longer, deeper poses) to Invigorate – a speedy flow (quick moving and pretty intense) to Exhilarate – a fast flow which also incorporates resistance band work for an additional boost of strength and cardio work.

Can I get a full body workout doing online yoga classes?

Is yoga a cardio workout?

It sure can be! If you decide to do fast paced (often called power flow yoga) yoga classes, you’ll get a great, heart pumping cardio workout at home. And, as you work deeper into poses, the cardio benefits grow.

What are some tips for beginner yoga?

First things first - have fun, do what you can and enjoy yourself. Know that you're doing something really good for your body and mind and don't take it too seriously.

Next, go step by step - don't try to do too much at once. And, as you get stronger/more flexible, don't be afraid to challenge yourself - a little at a time.

What type of yoga classes are best for beginners?

Bulldog is designed for everyone - from people looking for beginners yoga to people wanting a really challenging full body workout.

We've got a great beginner yoga series called "Bulldog Basics". That's a great place to start if you're looking for yoga for newbies.

Our Activate classes are often a great place to start if you've had just a bit of yoga class experience - they move at a slower pace which gives you more time to settle into and explore each pose. Once you feel comfortable with this pace, give the Invigorate and/or Exhilarate classes a go!

And, don't forget - it's all about getting the benefits of this amazing exercise!

Why do you have multiple types of yoga classes?

Because you have different needs on different days, right? Sometimes, you want to take it slow and get a good stretch and others you’re looking for a kick-ass yoga workout. Often, it’s somewhere in between.

How often should a beginner do yoga?

Yoga is a really great overall workout for your health and keeping active. So, even if you only practice for one hour a week, you will get the benefits of online yoga classes. You’ll see the difference!

If you can do more than just one yoga class per week, you will start to experience many more benefits. We suggest starting out with two or three classes a week then growing from there, if you want.

Just remember, listen to your body and go at your own pace that’s comfortable to you. Don’t set unreasonable expectations for yourself - the key is to set goals that you can sustain.

What are some beginner yoga tips?

1) We strongly recommend finding a class type that you really love at first and start there.

2) Stay hydrated!

3) Wear comfortable clothing (or none at all, if that’s your bag!).

4) Make sure to breathe when you’re in class - all of us often, unintentionally, hold our breath.

5) Remember to have fun! Yoga doesn’t have to be sooooo serious! Be sure to smile, laugh, and - if it’s your thing - sing your heart out (especially to our awesome music playlists).

Well, it’s completely free!

After your first thirty days of Bulldog Yoga online, your subscription will auto-renew each month. You can cancel anytime by heading to My Account. Under the billing tab, you will see your active subscription with a Change Plan link under it.

How do I access my online account?

Once you’ve created your account and logged in, just go to Classes.

What different ways can I watch my Bulldog yoga online classes?

There are lots of ways!

It’s always best to you use wifi if you are able. You can stream yoga directly on your desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile device on any browser.

You can also use the Bulldog Online yoga app in the following platforms: Apple iOS, Android, Roku, Apple TV and Fire TV. See links to all Apps below.

How often are new yoga classes added?

Great question! There’s no set schedule.

It really depends on what inspires us and our Bulldoggers. We always like to hear our yoga family out on what they’re liking and also what they would like to see.

How do I cancel my Bulldog Online yoga account?

We hate to see you go, but here is how to cancel below on both your desktop computer and on your phone:

On Your Desktop Computer

  • After you sign in to your account, click the My Account dropdown in the top right then select Profile.
  • Then select the Billing tab.
  • Under Active Plan, select Change Plan.
  • Then select Cancel Membership and give your reason for leaving.
  • Finally, select Continue Cancellation.

On Your Mobile Phone

  • Click here to access your Account Profile.
  • Select the Billing tab.
  • Then select Change Plan.
  • After that, select Cancel Membership and give your reason for leaving.
