Katy Conicella has been practicing and teaching yoga for over 10 years. Having been a Division 1 college athlete, playing field hockey at Georgetown University, Katy discovered yoga post-college to complement her continued running and athletics.
Katy has always had a passion for fitness and became a teacher because she gets something truly unique from the yoga practice. The practice has taught her patience and being okay with being uncomfortable and truly reading what is happening in her body, something she wants her students to walk away with, a new awareness of their bodies and knowing when to push forward and when to hold back in their practice.
Katy is a 200-hour YTT (CorePower Yoga) and specializes in Power Yoga. Katy graduated from Georgetown University in 2006 with her bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration & Management. Katy was interviewed by We Fit News as part of their 13 Yoga Poses for Tight Hips feature. Katy has also been interviewed as a guest on the Wander Wealthy, Find Your Awesome and The Money Nerds podcasts.
